The 2026 STX Am Tour Summer Season is officially underway, and it kicked off in style at Willow Springs Golf Course. The 6/6/6 format — six holes of Best Ball, six holes of Scramble, and six holes of Modified Alternate Shot — made for a fantastic and fun day of competitive team golf. And for the first time this season, it truly felt like summer. Hot, humid, and full of South Texas energy from the first tee to the last.
Willow Springs was in spectacular condition. A huge shoutout to Paul Hernandez and the entire maintenance crew — the Alamo City Golf Trail's representation at Willow Springs continues to impress, and the course was a worthy stage for the summer kickoff. Spectacular things are happening at Willow.
Three flights took to the course, and six teams went home with victory cookies — one team gross and one team net per flight. Here's how it all shook out.
A few highlights worth noting — Dustin Weldon and Sean Vidal put together one of the low rounds of the day in the Championship Flight, going nine under par as a team with 63 total strokes. On the net side of the Championship Flight, the Arnett brothers — John and Tye — shot a cool 58 to take home the victory cookies. Tye Arnett continues to be one of the hottest names on the tour, having also claimed the points title at Tour Travels 2026 just days ago. The summer season is treating him well early.
In Second Flight, Danny Puckett and Bernardo Pegas put together the low net score of the day — 59, thirteen under par — a phenomenal round in any format. And in First Flight, it took a scorecard playoff to decide the net winner, with Mark Freund and Terry Bleecker edging out Allen Collins and Darren Cormier. Cormier, who finished just outside the top 3 in the spring standings, will be hungry to make his move this summer.

This event is a 2.5X POINTS EVENT with Double Flight Bonuses (175pts to each team member = 1st Place Gross)

The STX Am Tour is happy to have GOLF GENIUS LIVE MOBILE SCORING @ Willow Springs. Golf Genius is a real time scoring app to enhance the tournament atmosphere of The STX Am Tour. Each Golfer will receive a separate email with specific directions for Golf Genius. Please take the time, in advance of your tee time, to download the GOLF GENIUS APP from the app store on your smartphone. Each foursome will get a tutorial on how to use golf genius prior to your tee time.
The STX Am Tour will continue to use paper scorecards as THE OFFICIAL SCORECARD.
- The Golf Genius email will contain a GGID CODE for EACH FOURSOME.
- One player in the group will enter the scores for the foursome.
- This will populate REAL TIME LEADERBOARD and REAL TIME SKINS!
- The paper scorecard and the digital Golf Genius scorecard will act as each others double check. In addition, the paper scorecard must be signed by multiple members of the pairing, and turned into the scoring tent.

For the 2026 Tour Seasons, the Senior Golfer category will be eligible at 50 years of age. This aligns with the USGA Senior golfer age. All golfers that meet the age requirement, will have the opportunity to play from a reduced yardage set of tees. (Approx. 6-11% reduction)
