The 2026 STX Am Tour Spring Season came to a close this past weekend at Cedar Creek Golf Course, and what a stage it was. The fourteenth playing of the Masters on an Alamo City Golf Trail course delivered everything the moment called for — drama, clutch golf, and conditions that had players talking all weekend long.
Cedar Creek was absolutely immaculate. A sincere shoutout goes to the entire maintenance crew led by Bart Miller, who presented the course in US Open-worthy shape. The golf operations team, led by course manager Greg Richter, ran a flawless operation from start to finish. Cedar Creek showed up in a big way for the STX Am Tour, and the field noticed.
The STX Masters is one of two jacket-earning majors on the STX Am Tour — alongside the STX Open in the summer season. When you win the Masters jacket, you come out of your flight entirely. It is a standalone championship title, and it carries all the weight that comes with it. Four flights competed for that title this weekend — and the stories that emerged were worth every shot.
The gross title came down to one of the most gripping finishes in Masters history. Through 35 holes, Rafael Abad, Mike Dermanuelian, and Steven Evans were locked in a three-way battle — all three had held the lead at some point during Sunday's round. Evans, who entered Round 2 four shots back of Abad, made his decisive move when it mattered most: a birdie on the 36th hole sealed a one-stroke victory and the Masters jacket. It was a champion's finish — and it was not the first time Evans has worn that jacket. He also claimed the gross Masters title back in 2021, making him a two-time PC Masters champion and one of the most decorated players in STX Am Tour history.
On the net side, Barrett Hansen made his case from the second flight, posting rounds of 67 and 69 for a 136 total at eight under par — edging the field by a single shot to claim the net jacket. The net title can come from any flight, and in 2026, it went to a deserving champion who earned every stroke of it.

05/16/2026 & 5/17/2026 ~ Individual Stroke Play - Stroke play is a format of play where a player competes against all others in their respective flights, by comparing a total score for one or more rounds. In regular, individual stroke play, you need to hole out on every hole. Each hole score for every hole in the round is added up to calculate your final score. Round #1 is totaled with Round #2 for a 36 hole Tournament Score.

Golf Genius is a real time scoring app to enhance the tournament atmosphere of The STX Am Tour. Each Golfer will receive a separate email with specific directions for Golf Genius. Please take the time, in advance of your tee time, to download the GOLF GENIUS APP from the app store on your smartphone. Each foursome will get a tutorial on how to use golf genius prior to your tee time.
The STX Am Tour will continue to use paper scorecards as THE OFFICIAL SCORECARD.

2026 - Handicap Index Guidelines:
Continuing to make this TOUR as competitive and enjoyable as possible, while providing a fair and equitable opportunity for players of all skill levels to compete, is the goal. The integrity of our TOUR events is important to us and our participants, and the following requirements have been put in place...A verifiable Tour handicap index will be used. This index is the total average of all individual golfers Tour Scores. This index will take preference over GHIN or any other handicap indexes. If you do not have a Tour handicap index, you are still eligible to compete in the Tour Event. The Tour will put you into a flight based on 80% of your USGA Verified Handicap Index or an Average Score. The Tournament Committee will record all tournament scores into the NEW Tour Handicap Database which is available for public viewing now at Handicap Database. Two Tour Scores are needed to create an Tour Handicap Index.
In addition to the tighter Tour Index Guidelines above, The following Handicap Adjustments Explanation will also pertain to Multiple Day Tour Events:
Handicap Competitions Rule States: The committee may, in an exceptional individual case, modify a player's handicap before or between rounds of a competition.
In the event that a Tour golfer shoots an exceptional tournament score on any event date and requires handicap adjustment for the Next day of, or next Event, the following formula will be used. (More than 5 shots or better below their handicap) In these cases, the amount of shots below your course allowance was divided by two and subtracted from your Handicap. For example, if you shot 6 shots below your handicap, or a NET 66, 3 strokes will be deducted from your previous handicap. That becomes your COURSE HCAP for the next round/event. However........The Tour Handicap & rules committee will track these golfers. If any adjusted golfer shoots above his un-adjusted handicap, HE/SHE WILL RECEIVE the un-adjusted index value. The STX AM Tour will strive to protect the integrity of the handicap process for the rest of the 2026 Tour Season & Playoffs.

For the 2026 Tour Seasons, the Senior Golfer category will be eligible at 50 years of age. . All golfers that meet the age requirement, will have the opportunity to play from a reduced yardage set of tees. (Approx. 8-12% reduction)

The 2026 STX AM Tour ~ Alamo City Golf Trail Division will utilize (up to) 4 sets of TOUR TEE MARKERS at each event. BLACK, BLUE, GREEN & WHITE.
